Charity Year

Its a new year and it started out being a charity year.  Almost all that I have been crafting has been for charity.  From baby hats, to adult hats, to preemie blankies, and fleece blankets and now quilting.....yes that's right.....I am quilting.  Thanks to Project Linus the sewing bug has bit me, and it has bit me hard.

I got a sewing machine, a Brother 6000, a sewing cabinet so that I don't take over the dinning table and thanks to all the good people that donate fabric to Project Linus I have plenty of fabric to choose from.

I also started listening to a handful of quilting podcasts and came across a free site for sewing and quilting,  just like ravelry, but it is so new that its not as evolved as ravelry....but ravelry was not built in a day, so I am looking forward to watching it grow and get better and better.  It is called SeamedUp.com
If you sew or quilt, go check it out.

I have been spinning a bit, but no pictures yet.

my first batch of hats, the baby hats donated to one of my local Kaiser Hospital.

Finally

For a long time now I have been looking for a free photo editing site where I can make collages of photos.  It is safe to say I don't have allot of patience for computer research so today I was on the hunt again and came across a free site Picture2Life.com and bravely signed up.  So far I think its pretty good.  here is what I started playing around with.  Its the first homework I submitted to the Harry Potter House on Ravelry.

KNITTING:
Last week DH asked me for some gloves.  Its cold now and he turned to me and asked me to knit him gloves in black yarn.  I went through my yarn stash and only had a dark chocolate Malabrigo sock.  He liked it and I went forth all excited because I don't get to knit for him too often.  The first glove was too snug, so I started another one and so far is fitting good and he is liking it.  The only problem is I am finding that I don't really like to knit on only one project at a time, I need at least two or three.  In this case I want to finish these gloves quickly because he keeps asking me for status...LOL and that his hands are cold and when will I be finished with them......but......I am getting a little tired of only knitting on these gloves.  Good thing is, its Malabrigo yarn and its soft and yummy to knit with.

SPINNING:
Not much spinning lately.  Xmas knitting is getting in the way of my spinning.  I only spun a few minutes on my spindle and then another few minutes on my Little Lady Bug.

Double Hat Week

CHARITY KNITTING:

and here's to another week of hats. Finished two more Ear Flap Hats, and started a basic vanilla hat all for charity Warm Up Winchester Group on Ravelry.

XMAS KNITTING:

Also finished a cute little neck scarf.  It will be a xmas present.

I have also started thinking and planning more xmas projects to make.  the contenders are cowls, and neck scarfs.  Maybe some hats, but not sure yet.

OTHER HAPPENINGS:

Last week I posted my first homework project in the Harry Potter House Cup as a NQFY in the Potions class.
